Solo
Several weeks before this solo outing I had scouted part of an intended route one weekday afternoon. I got caught in a brief thunderstorm that rolled in suddenly and was forced to bail and bushwack both in and out. That scout job was before the snow that fell before this trip. The unconsolidated snow made the bushwack slightly more painful than previously.
Regardless, this was a fun solo day on this route. I chose to reverse direction but if I were to do it again I would do the route the opposite of the way I did.
The snow combined with bushwacking and early season conditions made for an adventurous day and added more complexity to my original objectives. I ended up bailing on a larger more aggressive loop for this reason so I will have to return again to connect some of the ridges I abandoned. This area has a lot of fun peaks near Independence Pass and I always enjoy coming back to climb new mountains or loop new-to-me routes up repeats.
