My first time to Chamonix was breathtaking and life changing to say the least. I traveled solo to Europe, stopping first in Paris and then taking the train to Geneva to catch a bus to Chamonix. The scenic detour was well worth going the long way.

Chamonix is mesmerizing from it's jaw dropping views surrounding the valley, to the culture, food and people. I fell in love instantly.

I stayed in an airbnb of a lovely French woman and a wonderful caretaker right at the edge of the downtown strip.

The academy and the people I met were incredible. Empowering other women through all female glacier travel and skills building was a memorable outing.

‍

So many restaurants and shops to recommend. Take time to enjoy the downtown offerings in addition to the mountains.
