I should title this post the day Mark overslept, haha! I was working with a team of students, myself a glacier and crevasse rescue instructor, during their completion of a high altitude mountaineering course in preparation for Washington glacier climbs. One of our final training days we decided to head to Staunton State Park to rock climb and dial in skills and practice while climbing ahead of our trip.
One of us overslept, ahem about that title, while the rest of us met at the park once it opened. We grabbed our bags and trekked over to our chosen routes for the day.
Jillian and I were working together on her mountaineer boots, crampons and technical rock and scrambling comforts. I convinced her to rock climb in her mountaineering boots for the day and she crushed it!
We had a super chill day of climbing and went for pizza and beer afterwards!
