My friend Shannon invited several of our friends and family to participate in The Warrior Dash obstacle course race in 2011. We opted to stay in a condo at Copper Mountain Resort for the weekend. Obstacle course races like this and Tough Mudder were quite popular at the time and I was easily convinced by the obstacle nature of the event. My kind of playground!

I had several old friends visiting from my hometown at the time of the race so we invited them to tag along for the first night and stay in Copper. We had tons of people sprawled out on the floor and couches making good use of the condo space.

Most everyone partied a little hard in the pre-race celebration so everyone decided to keep a mellow race pace.

Shannon and I both had two old disposable cameras to snap the fun action shots and not ruin any tech in the mud pits. My favorite capture was the cartwheel I decided to take into the mud bath! I also quite enjoyed the professional snaps from the fire jump at the finish line.

Least favorite part was hands down the freezing cold shower after the race and the amount of time it took to remove mud from every fold of my body.

This was a really fun event and we all enjoyed the pre and post race festivities. Can’t say I ever regret swinging around obstacle courses in any case!
