A dear friend of mine, Rachel, gifted me with her old resort skis in 2014. I was a snowboarder at the time, but vowed I would set a goal to become “ambidextrous” with respect to mountain riding and skiing.

My partner and I decided to switch it up one April day in 2015. We decided to ditch the boards for a day with two sticks on our feet.

It was fun being a beginner again for the day and learning our way through pizza and fry moves. We stuck to green runs on the front of the mountain and enjoyed a super chill day. Lots of falls happened as we slowly inched our way down the mountain, but tons of laughs were had on the descent.

After our time at the bunny hill I think we maybe finished two or three runs by the end of the day. I said we were moving slow!

At the end of the day we were pretty worked and had a blast, but weren’t totally convinced we would trade the boards for skis just yet. I like both and they each have their advantages! Looking forward to more days on two sticks in the future!
