Crested Butte is one of my favorite mountain towns ranking pretty high, like top 5, on my list of ski towns and resorts in Colorado. In January of 2016 my partner and I took a mini staycation to recreate at Crested Butte Resort.

We spent a day working remotely exploring the town by coffee shops and cafes grubbing our way through finishing my deadlines so we could go ride. This trip we stayed at the resort on the hill but I would much prefer to stay in the town if I were to do it again. Much more my vibe and a quaint little place.

The following day we made our way to the mountain to make some runs at the resort. Once we were warmed up we headed to the T-Bar to hit the upper mountain routes. I was pretty new to T-Bars still and just proud not to fall off or look like a shit show.

The upper mountain runs were fantastic and we took a few technical lines that did not disappoint. After a solid few hours of riding we took a lunch break and met the coolest gang of old locals enjoying some healthy banter and conversation. They invited us to take the last run with their group and we happily obliged!

Not surprisingly the old locals smoked us down the run and we quickly lost sight of them on the way down. We still enjoyed their company and following down the hill behind!

Such a lovely town, CB, and always a blast visiting this special place!
