My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary over the weekend and decided to head to Gross Reservoir for a chill day by the water with the dog. I planned on SUPing and he was going to fish.

We headed to Gross Reservoir, a local spot not far from Denver. We had gone to a hidden spot with friends one camping trip and thought it would be the perfect spot to launch my SUP and have some quiet fishing time without much traffic.

The lesser known secret awarded us no crowds and a quiet mini beach, albeit rocky. My SUP carry and launch was relatively easy, minus the approach. I still need to get an inflatable board!

Ricky enjoyed some fishing while I took our boy Diezel out on the SUP with me and he loved it! He was enjoying himself, probably because the water was pretty calm that day! The water at Gross is pretty cold as its a glacier lake and very deep. The lack of motorized boats makes it perfect for SUP and calm waters when the weather allows.

We enjoyed a lovely day with the pup relaxing and enjoying the water!
