Returning to Gross Reservoir, this trip we were in search of new beaches and checking out the boat launch. This side was more popular and crowded than the beach we visited in 2014. Tons more people probably because of the boat dock for non-motorized boats. This side is also monitored by a ranger ensuring no one is swimming and motorized boats stay out.

I launched from the boat launch on my SUP and paddled around to meet Ricky and the pup in a nearby cove on the other side of the ramp. Ricardo stayed onshore to fish while I took Diezel out for a spin.

Deez did great on our first trip to Gross, but I also stayed in shallow water. This time I ventured further out into the middle of the lake and I sensed his discomfort maybe because he knew it was deeper. He was also more nervous about not having his dad in direct sight.

Luckily no motorized vehicle and calm weather afforded us more glass smooth water to paddle back to shore quickly and calm his nerves. Otherwise a wonderful bluebird day paddling on an alpine lake ColoRADo style!
