Hildebrand Ranch Loop

This was a fun non-technical loop located in Ken Caryl south of Denver. I have not been putting in enough miles on the bike this year as I have been hiking a lot recently, so I wanted a mellow route to jump back into it. Not to mention I’m still quite a ways away from technical rides as I’m working through this progression with mountain biking.
I watched a YouTube video of the route with my partner and convinced him to come check it out with me. He’s a better rider, I’m better at powering uphill on my own two feet — the bike, not so much! But I’m getting there.
I have also been working on several personal projects that involve loads of content creation in the outdoors, so this was another perfect pairing opportunity. Ricky had a weekday off work so we took advantage of midday trails and minimal traffic.
I loved how flowy the last trail section rounding back toward the reservoir was and the scenery was great. I can see this being a fantastic sunrise or sunset loop, especially for the neighborhood sitting in the middle of this lovely trail access!
A fun day on a super easy trail, more gravel than mountain bike, but still a great time jumping back in the saddle to work back towards being in mountain biking shape! Looking forward to more rides and autumn riding days!
