Quarantine COVID

It goes without saying COVID and life after was hard for everyone. Being active individuals and fortunate with all our outdoor spaces in Colorado, we took being outside for granted. With the 10 mile rule in place during lockdown we were pent up for far longer than normal. Needless to say, once restrictions were lifted some we jumped at the opportunity to go for a long bike ride further from home. Not to mention a social spot!
We decided to do a loop on the local trails starting with the south platte working our way through downtown. No real objective or goals in mind, we were just enjoying being out of the house and being active after the lockdown lifted. Once we got downtown we spotted a local brewery we hadn’t been to before with live music blasting. We had to pivot and check out this spot, I mean we hadn’t been afforded any social opportunities in a long time. And live music, please!
Restrictions had just lifted, so masks and distance were required in addition to special ordering to keep things streamlined. We grabbed a couple beers and hunkered down in the parking lot next to our bikes to enjoy the music and people watching everyone else just breaking out from lockdown.
I can’t really put into words how this moment felt, we were grateful to be able to find some sort of normalcy and enjoy other people laughing and dancing. We salsa danced a bit in the parking lot just loving the feeling of freedom. A luxury we take for granted often. It was a blast of a day, bike riding, dancing, smiling and enjoying some limited socialization.
