Tour de Fat Denver

2015 was the last time I attended the Tour de Fat in Denver, at least at this point while I’m writing this. Tour de Fat is a super fun and wacky costume ride celebrating bikes and beer with the community followed by music, food and live entertainment. Each year New Belgium Brewery, from Fort Collins, hosts these city tours nationwide with the original ride being in FoCo.

I’m not sure, as I write this, if they even host these events in Denver, let alone nationwide at this point. The brewery has undergone a lot of changes, namely no longer being employee owned. Admittedly I don’t drink much from this brewery these days and I’m not sure I would characterize them as craft anymore after selling out.

That said, in 2015 our friend Greg hosted a CMC meetup ride to attend the event together with a group. My partner and I signed up and joined them for a day of fun riding bikes and celebrating in the park.

We had a lovely group this year and enjoyed a beautiful day of riding, festivities, eating, drinking, yoga and dancing in the park. A wonderful end to the journey that has been Tour de Fat!
